Adopting Olya premiered on Denmark Radio/TV1, receiving accolades from viewers. It was also broadcast on NOS Holland, Discovery-UK, and Polish Television-TVP1. The Teleco Report: an International TV Program Magazine, featured the film on the front page of its January 1995 issue.
