Ithaca B&B - About Our Inn

Welcome to our Log Country Inn: The Bed & Breakfast of Ithaca. We know you will enjoy your stay in our rustic lodge, constructed of fine Vermont logs in a design inspired by American pioneer cabins of the 18th and 19th centuries. In every season, you can relax in this picturesque country setting surrounded by hundred wooded acres at the edge of 7,000 acres New York State Forest.

Whether you're visiting friends or family in our area, or you've chosen Log Country Inn as your "home base" for experiencing the scenic and recreational attractions of our countryside, we know you will find it comfortable and convenient.

Your hostess is Mrs. Wanda Grunberg.

Quality Lodging and B&B Accommodation. European Cuisine. A Picture Postcard Setting.

The hardy frontier settlers who built the log homes that inspired our Log Country Inn might find it difficult to believe the gracious, even elegant, environment into which their crude constructions have evolved. A cathedral ceiling soars over the living room. Most of the bedrooms & bathrooms offer plenty of elbow room. And throughout, the rustic charm of this home is accented by exposed log ceiling beams.

The serenity of this setting and Log Country Inn hospitality can be enjoyed by families and groups, as well as the individual traveler. Stroll the grounds in summer and admire our vegetable garden. Bring your camera in autumn and capture Mother Nature's leaf painting. Explore the nearby Finger Lakes Trail, the longest trail in New York State. In winter, you can walk or ski through the woods in the still aftermath of a new snowfall.

You may see deer foraging just a few feet away. Awaken to the sound of our roosters, and experience the peaceful wooded surroundings. Spend some time with our friendly dogs and cats. Residents of our barn include: Junior - a miniature horse, Cici - a Canadian goose, chickens and often newborn chicks. In the spring you can share our fields and forest as the gardens and wildflowers herald the warming sun. We love our home in every season, and we know you will, too!

The decor is dotted with an Eastern European influence, as is the morning meal. A full breakfast is included in the lodging fee. Enjoy Wanda's famous blintzes or Russian pancakes served with juices, choice fruits, local bees' honey, potato latki (placki ziemniaczane), specially selected jams, and home-baked breads or pastries.

If you like, you can taste eggs - a gift from our own chickens and prepared any way you like them. If you wish, we will serve you a vegetarian or vegan breakfast, just mention it while making reservation.

Rest in comfortable, cozy rooms with exposed beams. Many of the rooms are furnished with custom made country-style furniture. Others have an European and international flair including a Polish Jacuzzi Room, Russian Room, African Room, Tibetan Room, Persian Room and a Japanese Jacuzzi Suite. Most of our rooms have their own private bathrooms. Enjoy a fireplace and piano in the living room of the guest house, relax in a double jacuzzi in your private suite or have a cup of coffee at the dinning table. A fully equipped kitchen is available for use. A sauna and afternoon tea are available during Fall and Winter seasons. Take advantage of easy access to hiking and cross-country trails. Year-round, our gay and lesbian friendly bed and breakfast is cozy and comfortable, and laced with old-fashioned homelike hospitality. Families with children are welcome, and we will also find a place for your pet in our pet friendly B&B. Our Inn can also provide a perfect place for spiritual retreats, seminars, meetings, family reunions or weddings. There is free wireless Internet access in most of the rooms.
